Project Overview
From 2014-16, one of our standout collaborations was with Teach for India, a renowned non-profit organization dedicated to tackling the educational inequities prevalent in our country. This partnership unfolded over three carefully designed phases, each targeting a specific and transformative aspect of education. Through this collaborative effort, we strived to make a significant impact, aligning with our mutual mission to overcome the educational barriers that hinder equitable access to quality learning across India.

Collaborative Educational Program across Three Phases to Address Educational Inequities.
Design
In our first phase, we worked towards crafting and facilitating a curriculum relating to topics such as religion, politics and the environment. This phase culminated with the first Aawaaz Showcase for which organised a debate competition. The Showcase saw participation from our students who performed before an audience of 400 members comprising school principals, teachers, classmates and media personalities. We forged ahead with Phase 2 where we worked with over 1500 students, a team of 100 mentors and 70 government schools for a duration of 6 months. Our central focus in this phase was issues related to Gender, Politics, Caste, and Fundamental Rights. For our final Phase, we selected 6 schools from low-income communities which fell under the ambit of supervision of Teach for India.
Impact
Our goal was to make research paper writing skills more accessible to our students by providing dedicated instruction. During our collaboration with schools, we also addressed the pressing issue of garbage disposal, which was adversely affecting children's health. We successfully implemented a garbage disposal system within the school, significantly improving the situation. Although we had aspirations to expand this system on a larger scale, we faced challenges due to limited funding.
