Project Overview

In 2016, the Centre for Civil Society, a prominent think tank dedicated to driving change through research and action in public policy, reached out to Aawaaz for collaboration. Their mission in education focused on enhancing accessibility across the nation’s diverse student population. One notable initiative, Project Patang, was designed to tackle the social and academic integration challenges faced by students admitted through the 25% reservations under the RTE. To further enrich the learning experiences at DPS Vasant Vihar, CCS sought Aawaaz’s expertise to deliver training in critical thinking, general awareness, and public speaking, aligning with the Aawaaz curriculum.

Training in Critical Thinking, General Awareness, and Public Speaking for Project Patang at DPS Vasant Vihar.

Design

We meticulously crafted a module on the struggle for independence, focusing on creating an immersive and engaging instructional framework. Our goal was to help students not only visualize but also connect experientially with the journey of our historical heroes. Through a series of thoughtfully designed activities and interactive elements, we provided a compelling portrayal of this pivotal era. This approach ensured that learners gained a deep understanding and profound engagement with the monumental efforts and sacrifices that shaped our nation's history.

Impact

The module employed a diverse range of pedagogical techniques, such as interactive scrolls, immersive role-play, and strategic debates, to significantly boost student engagement and participation. These creative approaches not only captured the students' interest but also nurtured a vibrant learning environment. The module reached its peak with a student-led theatre production, where the students demonstrated their newly acquired skills and collaborative spirit.
